Of Place and Nation

Silicone, Polyester Fabric, Thermoplastic, Casted Concrete, Sand and Mixed Media.

13ft x 12 ft floor space; Hanging object: 3ft x5ft

Tinted, hand-pouredsilicone attached to red polyester fabric through a thermoplastic structure to resemble a flying flag. The “flag-object" is suspended from ceiling on top of 1000 pounds of sand with a casted impression of the artist's feet placing on top.

The installation uses the body  – in absent and present form  – to signify the  displacement between "Place" and "Nation", between political identity and personal memories.
